You know something is off with your relationship with money. This will tell you exactly what.

Take a free 3 minute assessment and get an honest picture of where your relationship with money stands and what to do about it.

This is not a budgeting quiz. There are no questions about your savings rate or your 401(k).

What this quiz looks at is the part that financial advice always skips: the emotional and behavioral patterns driving your financial decisions. The avoidance. The shame. The cycle of trying and stopping and trying again. The distance between what you know you should do and what you actually do.

If you have ever sat in a parking lot afraid to check your bank account, or made a budget that lasted exactly three weeks, or wondered why you can't seem to make the change stick no matter what you try — this assessment was built for you.

Answer honestly. Most people have never been asked these questions before.

What This Assessment Measures

  • Where avoidance and shame are quietly running your financial decisions
  • Whether your relationship with money has become unmanageable and what that actually means
  • How ready you are for a behavioral approach that addresses the root, not just the symptoms

About Me

Greg Downs is a Financial Sobriety Coach, author, and speaker. He spent 14 years as a financial advisor to some of the wealthiest families in the country before his own life fell apart. In August 2024, he was arrested and spent six months in jail. Getting sober changed everything. Working the 12 steps, he realized that the same fear, shame, and avoidance driving his addiction had been showing up in his clients' financial lives for years. Most people don't struggle with money because they lack information. They struggle because no one has ever helped them address what's underneath.

He built ClearPath Financial Coaching to do exactly that. His program — 12 Steps in 12 Weeks — applies the recovery framework to personal finances. His book on financial sobriety is publishing in early 2027.

F.A.Q.'s

Is this going to make me feel bad about my finances? No. The assessment is designed to be shame-free. The point is not to judge where you are. It is to give you an honest picture so you know where to start. Most people feel relieved after completing it, not worse.

Do I have to share my actual financial information? No. There are no questions about your income, debt, or account balances. This assessment looks at your relationship with money, not your bank statements.

What happens after I take it? You get your results immediately. Based on your score, you will receive a personalized results page with specific insights, a quick win you can act on this week, and a next step that matches where you are. If you are ready to talk, there is an option to book a call. If you are not, there is no pressure.

Who is this for?

    1. Adults who earn decent money but feel like something is consistently off.
    2. People who have tried conventional financial advice and it has not stuck.
    3. People in recovery or personal development who have done inner work in other areas but have not applied it to money yet.

Who is this not for? This is not for people looking for investment advice, wealth management, or a financial plan. I work on the behavioral and emotional side of money, not the technical side.
